## Who is behind doublet?

Masayuki Ino, born in Gunma in 1979, led shoes and accessories at MIHARAYASUHIRO before setting up doublet with the pattern maker Takashi Murakami. The LVMH Prize gives the founding year as 2012; the Fédération’s house page gives 2016. The label starts from standard, basic garments and makes them feel slightly strange, and Ino’s stated aim, the Fédération notes, is clothes that get people talking. doublet won the LVMH Prize in 2018. It showed on the official Paris menswear calendar every season from FW24 to SS27, as it did in the January and June 2023 calendars we also read.
