## What counts, and what we leave out

This is an introduction, not a ranking. We chose twelve labels that between them cover Brazilian ready-to-wear, eveningwear, menswear, swimwear, footwear, artisan craft, streetwear and Indigenous-led design, and that have a public record we could check.

São Paulo facts come from São Paulo Fashion Week’s own show listings for N60 (October 2025) and N61 (13–18 October 2026), which we read ourselves and checked against ELLE Brasil’s coverage. For international calendars we read the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s official Paris calendars from FW24 to SS27 and the CFDA’s official New York schedules: P. Andrade presented on the Paris menswear calendar in June 2025 and June 2026, and PatBO was on the New York schedule in September 2024 and February 2026. Where sources disagree on a date, the profile says so or leaves the date out.

Facts were checked on 22 October 2026. If you represent one of these labels and see something out of date, send us a correction.

## Where to see Brazilian design in person

São Paulo Fashion Week is the home stage: its [N61 edition](https://thecastindex.com/events/sao-paulo-fashion-week-2026) ran 13–18 October 2026, with its hub at the Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras in Ibirapuera Park. Our [São Paulo Fashion Week guide](https://thecastindex.com/guide/sao-paulo-fashion-week-guide) explains how the week began in 1995 and how its October edition sits next to Rio, and the [fashion week calendar](https://thecastindex.com/fashion-weeks) has the next dates.

Rio de Janeiro has its own week again: Osklen opened and Lenny Niemeyer closed the first Rio Fashion Week in April 2026. FARM Rio has shops in New York and Miami, and Melissa’s Galerias at 500 Broadway in New York and on Rua Oscar Freire in São Paulo stage exhibitions alongside the shoes. P. Andrade presented in Paris during men’s fashion week in June 2025 and June 2026.

## Questions

### Which Brazilian designers show at Paris or New York Fashion Week?

P. Andrade, by Pedro Andrade and Paula Kim, presented on the official Paris menswear calendar in June 2025 and June 2026; FFW called it the first Brazilian label on that calendar. PatBO, Patricia Bonaldi’s eveningwear label, was on the CFDA’s official New York schedule in September 2024 and February 2026.

### Who showed at São Paulo Fashion Week in October 2026?

SPFW N61 ran 13–18 October 2026. Herchcovitch;Alexandre opened the week, and the line-up included João Pimenta, Catarina Mina, Ronaldo Fraga with the Sou de Algodão project, and Dendezeiro, whose collection drew on Brazilian women in hip-hop.

### Does Alexandre Herchcovitch own his label?

Not the name. He sold the label to the InBrands group in 2008 and left in 2016. Since December 2022 he has run it again, as Herchcovitch;Alexandre, through a joint venture in which his company pays InBrands, the owner of the name, to use it, ELLE Brasil reported in 2022.

### Where is FARM Rio from?

Rio de Janeiro. Kátia Barros and Marcello Bastos founded it there in 1997, selling printed clothes at a local market. The United States became its first market outside Brazil in 2019, and in 2022 it opened a pop-up at Le Bon Marché in Paris.

### Which Brazilian labels work with Indigenous and artisan makers?

Sioduhi Studio is led by Sioduhi, a designer of the Piratapuya people, who dyes clothes with Maniocolor, made from cassava peel. Catarina Mina works with about 450 artisans in more than 30 communities, and Ronaldo Fraga’s October 2025 return to SPFW grew out of his work with Minas Gerais craft groups.
