# How to become a model in India

Most established Indian agencies, chiefly in Mumbai and Gurugram, recruit through their own websites: an online form or an email with natural, unretouched photos and your height. Several say they reply only if your profile suits them. TOABH and AG Models require a parent or guardian’s involvement for under-18s, and child-labour rules govern children working in advertising.

## Agencies and their official application routes

- **Anima Creative Management** (Mumbai) — online form: https://www.animacreatives.com/become-a-model; height: Says girls must be 170cm and taller and boys 184cm and taller.; age: Says it looks for applicants aged 16 to 24.
- **Inega Model Management** (Mumbai) — email: https://www.inega.in/talent/submissions/; height: Asks you to include your height in the email. The page states no minimum.; safety: Warns that people have falsely claimed to represent Inega and advises you not to respond to an approach until you have verified it with the agency.
- **TOABH Talent Management** (Mumbai) — online form: https://toabh.com/contact; height: Height is a field on the model application. The page states no minimum.; age: Applicants under 18 must give a parent or legal guardian’s details and consent, and the form says a guardian must be present at any meeting, casting or shoot.
- **Feat. Artists** (Mumbai) — online form: https://feat-artists.com/contact-model/; height: The form asks for your height in centimetres. The page states no minimum.; age: Applicants confirm they are 16 or older, or have sought parent or guardian approval first.

- **AG Models** (Mumbai) — online form: https://agmodelmanagement.com/join; height: Height is a field on the application. The agency says it reviews each applicant individually rather than rejecting on height alone.; age: The form accepts applicants from 16, and the agency says minors must apply with a parent or guardian present and need parental consent.; safety: Says it will never charge application fees, request nude photographs or ask aspirants for payment, warns that people have impersonated its staff, and says it does not accept applications by email.

## How agencies recruit

- Agencies recruit through their own websites. Anima, TOABH, Feat. Artists, Anon Management and AG Models use online application forms; Inega takes submissions by email to submit@inega.in. (https://www.inega.in/talent/submissions/)
- Photos should be natural and unretouched. Anima asks for no make-up, Inega wants clear face and full-length shots without make-up plus an introduction video, and AG Models asks for four natural-light polaroids with no filters taken within the last three months. (https://www.animacreatives.com/become-a-model)
- Do not expect a reply to every application: Anima says it replies only to successful applicants, and Inega says it will be in touch only if your profile suits the agency. (https://www.inega.in/talent/submissions/)
- Under-18s apply with a parent or guardian. TOABH’s form asks anyone under 18 for a parent or legal guardian’s details and consent, and says a guardian must be present at any meeting, casting or shoot. (https://toabh.com/contact)
- Some Indian agencies act as mother agencies for overseas markets: Anon Management says it connects its models with agencies, casting directors and clients in Paris, Milan and London. (https://www.anonmanagement.in/aboutus)

## Rules on fees, contracts and safeguarding

- Under Section 3(2)(b) of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986, as amended in 2016 (in force from 1 September 2016), a child under 14 may work as an artist in the audio-visual entertainment industry, including advertisements, subject to prescribed conditions and safety measures and provided the work does not affect the child’s school education. - Rule 2C of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Rules 2017 requires a producer to obtain permission from the District Magistrate of the district where the work takes place before involving a child, and to file an undertaking in Form C with the list of child participants, parental consent and the name of the person responsible for the child’s safety. - Under the same rules a child may not work more than five hours a day or more than three hours without rest, may not work more than 27 consecutive days, and at least 20% of the child’s earnings from a production or event must go into a fixed deposit in a nationalised bank in the child’s name, credited on reaching majority. - NCPCR’s guidelines define the entertainment industry to include modelling and photography, apply the 20% fixed-deposit rule to adolescents aged 14 to 17 as well as children, and note that the Act limits an adolescent to three hours’ work before a rest of at least an hour, spread over no more than six hours a day. ## Official model searches

- Elite Model Look (international entry): https://www.elitemodellook.com/int/en/participate/index.htm — India is listed on the 2026 country selector and routes to the international entry site rather than a national edition. Entries run from 1 January to 31 December 2026, open from age 14 with written parent or guardian consent for under-18s; three photos (full body, portrait and waist up).

## FAQ

### Do model agencies in India charge a fee to apply?

AG Models says it never charges application fees, requests nude photos or asks aspirants for payment, and none of the other application pages listed here mentions a fee. We found no Indian law specific to modelling-agency fees; general consumer complaints can go to the National Consumer Helpline on 1915.

### What height do Indian agencies ask for?

It depends on the agency. Anima publishes 170cm and taller for women and 184cm and taller for men, and Anon Management, which represents men, asks for 183cm (6ft) or taller. TOABH, Inega and Feat. Artists ask for your height but state no minimum, and AG Models says it does not reject applicants on height alone.

### Can I apply if I am under 18?

At several agencies, yes, with a parent or guardian involved. Feat. Artists asks applicants to be 16 or older or to have parent or guardian approval; Anima looks for ages 16 to 24 and Anon Management for 17 and over. TOABH asks under-18s for a guardian’s details and consent, and AG Models requires parental consent and presence for minors.

### What photos should I send?

Recent, natural shots without make-up or filters. Anima asks for a headshot, profile, three-quarter profile and full-length photo; TOABH asks for four unretouched digitals; AG Models wants four natural-light polaroids taken within the last three months; Inega also asks for a short introduction video.

### How can I check that a scout is genuine?

Use the contact details on the agency’s own website. Inega says its representatives only email from addresses ending @inega.in and asks you to verify any approach via contact@inega.in; AG Models says its team writes only from @agmodels.in or @agmodelmanagement.com addresses.

### Is there an official model search in India?

Elite Model Look 2026 accepts entries from India through its international website until 31 December 2026, from age 14 with parent or guardian consent for under-18s. Lakmé Fashion Week’s online model-audition page refers to past seasons and shows registrations as closed.

### What rules protect children who model in India?

Children under 14 may work as artists, including in advertisements, only under the Child and Adolescent Labour Act and its 2017 rules: the producer needs District Magistrate permission, work is capped at five hours a day, schooling must not suffer, and at least 20% of earnings go into a fixed deposit in the child’s name.
