From the British Fashion Awards
The Fashion Awards trace to the British Fashion Awards, first presented in 1989 to honour achievement in British fashion. Organised throughout by the British Fashion Council, the ceremony was renamed The Fashion Awards in 2016 as its scope widened from a domestic industry dinner to an international fundraiser staged at the Royal Albert Hall.

A fundraiser for talent
The ceremony is the BFC’s annual flagship fundraiser, raising money for the council’s talent-support schemes, including NEWGEN, the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund and BFC scholarships. Awards span Designer of the Year, British womenswear and menswear design, and the Model of the Year award, which recognises a model’s global impact over the preceding year; nominees and winners are voted on by an international panel of industry figures.

The 2026 ceremony and nominees
The British Fashion Council announced on 16 September 2026 that The Fashion Awards 2026 will take place on Monday 30 November at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Winners are announced on the night; Pandora is the presenting partner.
Designer of the Year: Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row, Haider Ackermann for Tom Ford, Matthieu Blazy for Chanel, Michael Rider for Celine and Sarah Burton for Givenchy.
British Womenswear Designer of the Year: Clare Waight Keller for Uniqlo, Erdem Moralıoğlu for Erdem, Louise Trotter for Bottega Veneta, Sarah Burton for Givenchy and Simone Rocha. British Menswear Designer of the Year: Foday Dumbuya for Labrum, Kiko Kostadinov, Nick Wakeman for Studio Nicholson, Simon Holloway for Dunhill and Simone Rocha. Vanguard Award: Conner Ives, Ellie Misner, Steve O Smith and Tolu Coker.
Sandra Choi of Jimmy Choo will receive a Special Recognition Award, the BFC announced on 14 September 2026. The BFC had not announced Model of the Year nominees when this page was checked on 1 October 2026.
