The Cast Index model register is a free, desk-reviewed listing for models aged 18 and over, anywhere in the world. Apply with 1–3 recent photos and your details — no fees, ever. If the desk approves it, you get a listing page with your photos on the register for a year. We are not an agency and never charge models.
How it works
How do I get listed on the model register?

Apply with your photos
Your name, city, discipline and 1–3 natural photos, plus your portfolio, Instagram or agency profile if you have one.

Confirm your email
If we send you a one-click confirmation link, click it so we know the address is yours. Your email is never published.
- 03
Desk review
An editor checks the photos and details are consistent, that you are 18 or over and that any links show your own work. We may decline any application.
- 04
Your listing goes live
Approved listings appear on the model register with their own page and photos, for one year. Ask us to change or remove it at any time.

Is it free to be listed on The Cast Index?
- Yes. The model register is free to apply to and free to be listed on. We never charge models a fee to apply, to be reviewed or to stay listed.
Is The Cast Index a modelling agency?
- No. We are an independent fashion publication. A register listing is not representation, a booking or a promise of work. To be signed, apply directly to agencies — our country guides link to their official application pages.
Can I apply if I am under 18?
- No. The register is for adults only. If you are under 18, apply to agencies with a parent or guardian through the agency’s own website; read our guide to modelling under 18 first.
Can I apply without an agency?
- Yes. Independent models can apply with photos alone, and add a portfolio or social profile if they have one. Signed models can also add their agency name and profile link, and we suggest clients book through the agency.
What photos do I need?
- One to three recent, natural photos — ideally a clear face shot and a full-length shot, little make-up and no filters, like the digitals agencies ask for. Clothed photos only: never send nude or lingerie photos to anyone who asks for them as part of an application. Your browser shrinks each photo to under 400 KB and removes its location data before sending.
Does being listed affect the Cast Index rankings?
- No. Register listings are separate from our editorial rankings and profiles, which are based on runway and campaign records. Being listed does not rank you, and not being listed does not count against you.
