The person and the label
Who is behind SOSHIOTSUKI?
Soshi Otsuki, born in Chiba in 1990, studied menswear at Bunka Fashion College, attended the Coconogacco school at the same time, and launched his label in 2015. His interest in Japanese classical performing arts feeds a tailoring-led reading of Japanese tradition. His second collection made him an LVMH Prize semi-finalist in 2016; he won the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Award in 2019 and the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2024, and on 3 September 2025 he won the LVMH Prize itself. After showing as guest designer at Pitti Uomo in Florence in January 2026, SOSHIOTSUKI appeared on the official Paris menswear calendar for the first time in the seasons we checked, with an SS27 show in June 2026.
