American fashion’s own honours
The CFDA Fashion Awards are the annual honours of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the trade association founded in 1962 to further the position of American design. First presented in the early 1980s, the awards grew into the American industry’s principal ceremony — often likened to the Oscars of fashion — recognising womenswear, menswear, accessories and emerging talent alongside honorary and international categories.

The 2 November 2026 ceremony
The 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion, take place on Monday 2 November 2026 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, the ceremony’s fourth year there, hosted by Keke Palmer. The CFDA announced its nominees and honorees on 9 September 2026.
American Womenswear Designer of the Year nominees are Catherine Holstein for Khaite, Michael Kors, Rachel Scott for Diotima, Tory Burch and Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera. American Menswear nominees are Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School New York, Ralph Lauren, Thom Browne, Todd Snyder and Willy Chavarria. American Accessory nominees are Ana Khouri, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row, Raul Lopez for Luar, Sophie Buhai and Stuart Vevers for Coach.
Honorees include Anthony Vaccarello (International Designer of the Year, Saint Laurent), Tory Burch (Positive Change Award), Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin (Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award) and Eva Chen (Media Award in honour of Eugenia Sheppard).
