What is new. What earns its place..
A dryer brush, a new fragrance format and a wider cushion conversation. Our guide to recent arrivals—and the details that matter before buying.
The brief
Which recent beauty launches are worth understanding in September 2026?
The September edit includes Dyson’s Airsmooth styling brush, Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 74 Intense Perfume Mist, ILIA’s Thru Line eyeliner and Sun Serum SPF 50, plus Jung Saem Mool’s US retail expansion. Each addition is assessed by its role in a routine, with launch dates separated from popularity signals.
A simpler tool deserves a specific question
Dyson introduced the Airsmooth styling brush on 3 September. It is a dedicated hot-air brush, so the useful comparison begins with the shape you want: a smooth blowout, stretched roots or softly curved ends. A large multi-attachment set only earns its place if you use those additional functions.
Before considering a new tool, check the grip, maintenance, exact model and local warranty. The manufacturer’s drying and breakage studies provide context; this publication has not independently tested the device.
A fragrance launch can arrive in stages
Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 74 Intense Perfume Mist reached the brand’s US store and Ulta from 23 August. The announced Sephora and Amazon rollout is 29 September, which is still ahead of this briefing. A global-looking product page should not be read as proof of local stock.
For fragrance, a test on skin is more useful than a long list of notes. Allow the opening to settle, then decide whether the dry-down suits you. A brand’s stated longevity does not describe every wearer’s experience.
A familiar name can conceal a different product
ILIA’s July Thru Line launch adds a pencil option for a softly blended eye. Its April Sun Serum is a dedicated SPF 50 sunscreen, distinct from the brand’s SPF 40 Super Serum Skin Tint. Olaplex’s No.3PLUS similarly needs its own instructions rather than inheriting the original No.3 routine.
These distinctions guide the new category pages: identify the format, understand its place in the routine and compare only after that. An appealing range name is not enough to establish an equivalent formula.
The cushion conversation gets wider
Jung Saem Mool’s Sephora US debut on 21 August included an expanded cushion offering. That is a distribution and shade-range development, rather than the first appearance of a cushion already familiar in Asian markets.
Regional listings can differ in shades, refills and SPF labels. Compare the exact local product with the coverage you want. A cushion is an application format, and the formulas within that format can create very different results.
Read the evidence behind the label
The new beauty edit distinguishes brand-listed bestsellers, reader-voted recognition and editorial additions. A bestseller label describes the source that published it. An award records a named selection process. Neither is a substitute for your shade match, ingredient preferences or application habits.
Our product library now has a practical guide for every category, with original source links, review dates and relevant alternatives. The goal is to make a smaller, more informed decision possible—even when that decision is to keep using what already works.
