Early life
Elsa Anna Sofie Hosk was born on 7 November 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden, to Swedish father Pål and Finnish mother Marja; her cousin, Alice Herbst, won Sweden’s Next Top Model in 2012 and also models. At 13 her father submitted her photos to Swedish modelling agencies, and she began modelling at 14 while still in high school, working with Guess early on. She played in the Swedish women’s basketball league for two years before committing to modelling full-time, crediting the sport with preparing her for the industry’s physical and travel demands.

Victoria’s Secret career, 2011–2018
After moving to New York, Hosk’s work with photographer Ellen von Unwerth on Guess campaigns is credited with launching her into top-tier fashion. She walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show every year from 2011 to 2018, becoming one of ten new Victoria’s Secret Angels in 2015 and opening the show in 2016. In 2017 she wore a Swarovski-crystal outfit in the show, and on 8 November 2018 she wore the $1 million "Dream Angels" Fantasy Bra, designed by Atelier Swarovski and hand-set with 2,100 diamonds.

Hosk fronted a Resort 2024 campaign for the Los Angeles brand Nana Jacqueline, shot in Joshua Tree, and walked Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week in September 2024. She has continued campaign work with UGG and eyewear brand District Vision through 2025, and walked Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2026 show that February, followed by the brand’s "Generation 26" campaign that April. She welcomed a daughter in February 2021 with partner Tom Daly, became engaged in September 2025, and announced a second pregnancy in April 2026. She is represented by IMG Models worldwide.
