Early life
Audrie Kiko Daniel, known professionally as Kiko Mizuhara, was born on 15 October 1990 in Dallas, Texas, to American father Todd Mason Daniel and Zainichi Korean mother Yae Toyama. The family moved to Tokyo when she was 2 and later to Kobe; her parents divorced when she was 13, and she later moved to Tokyo alone at 16 to pursue modelling. She won a Seventeen magazine audition contest at 12 in 2002, becoming an exclusive Seventeen model for three years, and became an exclusive model for ViVi magazine in 2007.

Runway, campaigns and acting, 2010–2014
Mizuhara made her acting debut in the 2010 film Norwegian Wood, and in 2012 fronted a Chanel campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for "The Little Black Jacket," the same year she won at the Japan Fashion Leader Awards. Her international runway debut came in Paris in 2014, at Olympia Le Tan’s Spring/Summer show, followed by Nasir Mazhar in London and Jeremy Scott’s Moschino debut in Milan. That year she was named Asian Fashion Icon of the Year at the SOHU Fashion Awards, joined the Business of Fashion 500, and won Model of the Year at the Fashion Editors Club of Japan Awards.

Beauty ambassadorships and business, 2016–2021
Mizuhara founded her own company, Kiko Co., Ltd. (Office Kiko), in 2016, and walked New York Fashion Week for Alexander Wang’s Spring/Summer 2018 show the following year. In 2018 she was appointed Dior’s first Asian brand ambassador and joined the Coach family. Her film and television work has continued alongside modelling, including Attack on Titan: End of the World (2015), in which she played Mikasa Ackerman, and Netflix’s Ride or Die (2021).

Mizuhara appeared in the 2024 film Adabana, and fronted a Vogue Japan cover and editorial in June 2025, alongside multiple Paris Fashion Week appearances for Saint Laurent. She attended the 79th Cannes Film Festival in May 2026. Her campaign roster across her career has included Diesel, Reebok, Kitsuné, Tiffany & Co. and Shiseido.
