Early life
Nidhi Sunil was born in Kochi, Kerala, India, and trained and worked as a lawyer before switching to modelling. She placed second runner-up on the television competition Get Gorgeous in 2007, an early step into the entertainment industry.

Film and music work, 2012–2018
Sunil took a film role in Gangoobai (2013), playing Monisha, and appeared in the music video "Brown Rang" in February 2012, followed by a role in the 2015 film Kaash, playing Samira. Her public profile rose significantly with the music video "Makhna," released on 21 December 2018, which became a #1 trending video on YouTube and Google.

L’Oréal Paris and Vogue India, 2021
In February 2021, Sunil was named L’Oréal Paris’s global ambassador, the first Indian model to hold the role, and won Vogue India’s Model of the Year 2021, the same year she covered the magazine’s November "Women of the Year" issue, photographed by Pierre Debusschere. Her editorial and campaign record includes Vogue, GQ, Elle, Vogue Italia, Condé Nast Traveller and Harper’s Bazaar, alongside campaigns for Garnier, Gap, Forever 21 and Esprit. She is represented by Premium Models in Paris and Elite Model Management in New York.
