Early life
Barbara Palvin was born on 8 October 1993 in Budapest, Hungary, to István and Ágnes Palvin, and has a sister, Anita. She was scouted on a Budapest street at 13 while walking with her mother, and her first editorial ran in 2006 for Spur Magazine, leading her to relocate to Asia for steady bookings before her international career took off.

Runway rise, 2010–2012
Palvin made her runway debut for Prada at Milan Fashion Week in 2010, and opened Chanel’s Pre-Fall show the following year. In 2012 she became a L’Oréal Paris ambassador and walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, building a runway record that would go on to include Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Nina Ricci, Christopher Kane and Vivienne Westwood.

Victoria’s Secret Angel and screen work, 2016–2022
Palvin was named Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie of the Year in 2016 and ranked fourth on Maxim’s Hot 100 the same year. In 2019 she became the first Hungarian Victoria’s Secret Angel. Alongside modelling — with campaigns for Armani Exchange, H&M, Armani Beauty and Longines, and covers across Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ — she has taken film roles including Hercules (2014) and Tyger Tyger (2021).

Palvin married actor Dylan Sprouse on 15 July 2023 in Albertirsa, Hungary. In August 2025 she publicly disclosed a past endometriosis diagnosis and surgery, and on 14 May 2026 the couple announced their first pregnancy on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, at the premiere of "Parallel Tales." She is represented by Ford Models in New York, Barcelona and São Paulo, alongside Mirah Management in Paris and Icon Management in Budapest.
