Early life
Cindy Bruna was born on 27 September 1994 in Saint-Raphaël, in the Var department of France, to Italian father Stefano Bruna and Congolese mother Éléonore, from Brazzaville; she has an older sister, Christy. At 16 she was approached in Cannes by agent Dominique Savri of Metropolitan Management about modelling in Paris; she initially hesitated, having planned to become a chartered accountant, but accepted and began moving between Paris and New York.

Runway rise, 2012–2014
Bruna’s early work included campaigns for Alaïa and Elie Saab under Metropolitan Management and Wilhelmina Models. In 2012 she walked exclusively for Calvin Klein, and the following year she made her debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, walking in every subsequent show for several years. She fronted Vogue Italia’s covers in December 2013 and September 2014, building a runway record that would go on to include Roland Mouret, Giambattista Valli, Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Balmain and Alexander McQueen.

Recognition and advocacy
Bruna has fronted campaigns for Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Michael Kors and Yves Saint Laurent, with editorial work for American Vogue and the Arabia, Japan, Spain, Ukraine and Portugal editions, alongside W and Harper’s Bazaar. She was named L’Oréal Paris’s international spokesperson in April 2020 and has been recognised as a Models.com "Money Girl" and named to Forbes’ "30 Under 30." She also serves as an ambassador for Solidarité Femmes, a French domestic-violence support organisation.

Bruna walked Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week on 11 March 2025, and fronted Donna Karan New York’s 40th-anniversary campaign, launched that August. She married Congolese basketball player Blondy Baruti at Notre-Dame des Ardentes in Paris in December 2025, following a 2024 engagement. She is represented by The Society Management in New York, alongside agencies in Milan, London, Barcelona, Frankfurt and Paris.
