Early life
Eva Herzigová was born on 10 March 1973 in Litvínov, Czechoslovakia, to an accountant mother and an electrician father. An athletic child who competed in gymnastics, basketball, track and cross-country skiing, she began modelling at 16 after winning a 1989 contest run by Metropolitan Models in Prague, relocating to Paris to launch her career.

A 1990s breakthrough and an iconic campaign
Herzigová rose to fame in the 1990s alongside Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Christy Turlington, working for Guess, Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated. In 1994 she became the face of Wonderbra’s "Hello Boys" billboard campaign, created by Trevor Beattie at TBWA London — later polled the most iconic UK outdoor advertisement of the past five decades. She portrayed "Venus" in the opening ceremony of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.

Herzigová was the face of Dior’s Capture Totale skincare line from 2013 to 2021, and fronted Giorgio Armani’s "New Normal" campaign in 2016, alongside a runway record spanning Louis Vuitton, Versace, Emilio Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel. Her film credits include Les Anges gardiens (1995), My Best Friend’s Wife (1998), Modigliani (2004) and A Prominent Patient (2017).

Herzigová walked Roberto Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2025 show in Milan in September 2024 and Messika’s ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris later that month, alongside a Donna Karan Fall 2024 campaign and an Elle France cover that December. She married her longtime partner, Gregorio Marsiaj, on 11 July 2026, after 25 years together; the couple have three sons. She serves as editor-at-large of Vogue Czechoslovakia.
