Early life
Freja Beha Erichsen was born on 18 October 1987 in Roskilde, Denmark. She was scouted on the street by a modelling agent, making her debut in 2005 at the Fall shows in Paris and Milan, opening for Miu Miu alongside runway bookings for Prada and Louis Vuitton.

Building a Vogue and campaign record, 2008–2011
Erichsen fronted her first Vogue covers — Vogue Nippon and Vogue Portugal — in 2008, followed by two more Vogue covers in 2009 and four major covers across the French, British and Italian editions in 2010, the same year she became a favoured face of Louis Vuitton under Nicolas Ghesquière and fronted campaigns for Chanel, Valentino, Balenciaga and Tom Ford. In 2011 she was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Pirelli Calendar and was one of three cover stars for British Vogue’s May issue.

Erichsen signed a worldwide Maybelline contract in 2013 and joined the Business of Fashion 500 in 2014. She continued walking for Saint Laurent through recent seasons and appeared in the Swedish Netflix series "Clark" in 2022. She is represented by IMG Models and Unique Denmark.
