Early life

Herieth Paul was born on 14 December 1995 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her mother, Nsia Paul, was a diplomat posted to the Tanzania High Commission in Ottawa, and the family relocated to Canada when Herieth was 14. She was scouted at an open casting call at an Ottawa modelling agency and signed with Women Management New York in June 2010.

Early recognition, 2011–2016

Paul fronted a Canadian Elle cover in July 2011, carrying the cover line "Naomi Move Over. Why We’re Hot For Herieth." In 2013 she was featured in Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter campaign, cited among that season’s top ten campaigns, building a runway record that has included Diane von Fürstenberg, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Armani, Roberto Cavalli and 3.1 Phillip Lim. In 2016 she was named a global spokesmodel for Maybelline New York.
