Early life
Isabella Khair Hadid was born on 9 October 1996 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Palestinian-American real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch former model Yolanda Hadid; her sister Gigi Hadid and brother Anwar Hadid are also models. She was raised on a ranch in Santa Barbara and later Beverly Hills, graduating from Malibu High School in 2014, and was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in 2012, a condition she has spoken about publicly throughout her career.
She began paid commercial work at 16, including a Chrome Hearts collaboration, before signing with IMG Models on 21 August 2014.

Runway rise, 2014–2016
Hadid made her New York Fashion Week debut for Desigual in September 2014, and her first magazine cover, for Jalouse, came that December. Her runway debut proper followed at Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2015 show, and in January 2016 she walked Chanel’s haute couture show, becoming a Dior Makeup ambassador that May. Her first Vogue cover came with Vogue Turkey in May 2016, followed by Vogue Japan, Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris that September.

Records and recognition, 2016–2022
Hadid made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut on 30 November 2016 and returned in 2018. In September 2017 she broke Doutzen Kroes’s record with five international Vogue covers — China, Spain, Brazil, Australia and Arabia — in a single month, while also becoming an ambassador for Bulgari and TAG Heuer that February. Across her career she has appeared on more than 35 international Vogue covers and fronted campaigns for Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Chanel, Versace and Nike. She won the British Fashion Council’s Model of the Year award in 2022, having earlier won Models.com’s Break Out Star award in 2015 and its Model of the Year (Industry’s Choice) title in 2016.

Recent record, 2023–2025
Hadid was named to Time’s "100 Most Influential People" in 2023, the same year she reported earnings of roughly $19 million, before taking a career break. She returned to the runway for Saint Laurent and Victoria’s Secret in Fall 2024, and made her official runway return at Saint Laurent’s Autumn/Winter show in February 2025, followed by a British Vogue cover that June. Alongside modelling, she co-founded the beverage brand Kin Euphorics in September 2021 and launched her own fragrance and beauty brand, Orebella, in 2024. She remains represented by IMG Models.
