Early life and discovery
Jū Xiǎowén, known internationally as Xiao Wen Ju, was born on 19 May 1989 in Xi’an, in China’s Shaanxi province. Her career began after she appeared on the May 2010 cover of Harper’s Bazaar China, part of a feature on Chinese models, which led directly to her New York runway debut at Honor’s Fall 2011 show. She signed with IMG Models.

Early runway and a campaign first, 2011–2015
In her debut season, Ju walked for DKNY, Prada, L.A.M.B., Shiatzy Chen, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Calvin Klein, Emanuel Ungaro, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Rochas and Thierry Mugler. In 2012 she fronted campaigns for Adidas, Dior, Kenzo and Marc Jacobs — becoming the first Chinese model to front a Marc Jacobs campaign — while also walking for Marc Jacobs, Dsquared², Tory Burch and Moschino, and was ranked 22nd on Models.com’s Top 50 that July. By 2015 she ranked sixth on a published list of top Asian models and appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia.

Supermodel status and Victoria’s Secret, 2016–2018
Ju became an L’Oréal Paris spokesmodel in 2016 and walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris that year, reportedly the fifth Chinese model to do so. In 2017 she was inducted into Models.com’s "Industry Icons" list and returned to the Victoria’s Secret runway for its Shanghai show. A travel-editorial series for Etihad Airways, "Model Diaries," followed in 2018.

Recent record, 2024–2025
Ju returned to the runway for Balenciaga, Miu Miu and Loewe at Paris Fashion Week in 2024, including Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2025 show on 1 October 2024, alongside an August 2024 Vogue China cover and a June 2024 Vogue Singapore cover shot by Leslie Zhang. In 2025 she walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York on 15 October, appeared at the Vogue World: Hollywood runway event at Paramount Studios on 26 October, and featured alongside Gigi Hadid in Miu Miu’s Matelassé Leathergoods campaign.
