Archive Armani, Dolce & Gabbana's spring 2003 and a 1,250-hour Chanel mermaid dress: the models who lit up the Lido at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
Which models walked the red carpet at Venice Film Festival 2026?
Models photographed on the Lido in 2026 included Kendall Jenner, Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk, Stella Maxwell, Bhavitha Mandava, Bianca Balti, Eugenia Silva, Faretta Radic, Georgina Rodríguez, Madalina Ghenea, Martina Colombari and Greta Ferro. Mariacarla Boscono and Alessandra Ambrosio also walked, in Chanel and Intimissimi respectively, according to W Magazine.
The 83rd Venice International Film Festival ran from 2 to 12 September 2026 on the Lido, opening with the world premiere of Danny Boyle's Ink in the Sala Grande and closing with Giovanni Veronesi's Dio ride (God Laughs). Maggie Gyllenhaal presided over the competition jury, and May el-Toukhy's Woman Unknown took the Golden Lion.
For models it was an archive-led edition. Kendall Jenner made her first Venice red-carpet appearance in a fall 1995 Giorgio Armani dress, Irina Shayk revived the Dolce & Gabbana spring 2003 look that Gisele Bündchen wore to open that show, and Vittoria Ceretti and Eugenia Silva both chose Armani Privé.
Lingerie-inspired dressing was the other thread. Intimissimi returned as an official sponsor and dressed models including Stella Maxwell and Faretta Radic for opening night, while Chanel house ambassador Bhavitha Mandava made her festival debut in the closing look of the house's Resort 2027 collection, an aquamarine mermaid dress embroidered over around 1,250 hours.

Stella Maxwell
Intimissimi (custom) · Custom black lace gown by Intimissimi, the festival's official sponsor, with sheer lace layering, a boned balconette bustier and a cascading drape across the back (HELLO!; nss magazine; Marie Claire España). W Magazine credits Maxwell in Elie Saab for a separate appearance at the Wild Horse Nine screening on 3 September.
Maxwell opened the festival in long-sleeved black lace, the sheer layers anchored by a sweeping cape-like drape that pools behind her on the carpet. With loose platinum waves, it is lingerie-inspired dressing given real evening-gown gravity.

Trussardi (reported) · Romanian broadcaster Observator reported a Trussardi haute couture look made entirely of black leather; we did not find the credit confirmed in fashion press.
Ghenea swapped the mermaid silhouettes of past Venice appearances for high-shine black leather: a sleeveless, plunging coat-dress with zip details, worn open over wide trousers and sweeping into a train. Long, honey-toned waves and a playful pose keep the hard edges glamorous.
