Early life
Leomie Jasmin Francis Anderson was born on 15 February 1993 in Wandsworth, South London, and is of Jamaican descent. She had originally aspired to be a fashion journalist before being scouted at 14; she appeared on Channel 4’s reality series The Model Agency in 2011, and booked her first catwalk show at 17 for Marc Jacobs, reportedly becoming one of his favoured runway models.

Victoria’s Secret and LAPP The Brand, 2015–2019
Anderson walked four consecutive Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows between 2015 and 2018. In 2016 she founded the LAPP blog, later LAPP Magazine, focused on women’s mental health and empowerment, and launched LAPP The Brand — an acronym for "Leomie Anderson the Project the Purpose" — as an activewear and fashion label that September. In 2017 she became a face of Fenty Beauty at its launch and won the Yahoo Diversity in Beauty Award’s Model Activist category. In April 2019 she was named a Victoria’s Secret Angel, the sixth Black model and first British Black model to hold the title.

Anderson was named to Forbes’ "30 Under 30" in the Art & Culture category in 2020, and launched the podcast Role Model with Leomie Anderson through Sony Music in April 2021. In 2023 she took over from Maya Jama as host of the BBC’s Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, and entered a co-management deal with YMU in September 2024, alongside continued representation by CAA in New York and Los Angeles, Premium Models in Paris, D’Management Group in Milan and TESS Management in London. Her runway and campaign record includes Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Chloé, Tom Ford, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, and she has delivered two TEDx talks on discrimination within the modelling industry.
