Early life
Micaela "Mica" Argañaraz was born on 16 May 1992 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up partly in the Laprida district near Olavarría. Her mother, Gloria Ebbeke, is a photographer, and her father an agricultural producer; her siblings include cinematographer Rafael and fellow model Ximena. Argañaraz studied cinematography before modelling took over.
She was first approached by a scout as a student and initially declined; she was later signed after submitting polaroids to the Buenos Aires agency LO Management.
03 / Career record
Runway ascent, 2012–2017
Argañaraz made her runway debut in 2012 at Christopher Kane, with early editorials in Glamour Spain and Elle Italia. Her rise was rapid: a Prada Fall/Winter campaign followed in 2014, and by 2015 she was opening Versace’s Fall/Winter show and walking a total of 61 shows that season. In 2016 she opened and closed Chanel, appeared in a Tom Ford campaign alongside Lady Gaga, and served as the "Chanel Bride" closing that house’s haute couture show — before a 2017 Versace campaign that placed her alongside Gigi Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti and Taylor Hill.
