Early life
Neelam Kaur Gill was born on 27 April 1995 in Coventry, England, to a family whose grandparents were Sikhs born in Punjab, India. She was spotted at 13 by a scout at The Clothes Show Live and signed with NEXT Model Management at 14, making her professional debut in 2011.

A Burberry breakthrough, 2013–2015
Gill made her catwalk debut for Burberry at London Fashion Week in September 2013, and in 2014 became the first Indian model featured in a Burberry campaign — a milestone that shaped much of her early public profile. In November 2015 she was named the face of Abercrombie & Fitch, alongside runway and campaign work for Dior and Rohit Bal.
